Discover the daily life of Hotel Victoria during the Montreux Jazz Festival, a family-run establishment combining prestige, authenticity and excellence.

Built in 1869, the establishment has remained true to its Belle Époque spirit. From the period decor to the flower gardens cultivated on site, the Victoria asserts a strong identity, far from the standards of the big chains. "We welcome guests into our home. We want to create an emotional bond, not just provide a service." Taken over by Antoine at the age of 24, after a career in international hospitality, the establishment has remained in the family's hands since the 1980s.
During the festival, the Victoria does not change its positioning: calm, serenity, discretion. - no private parties or festive atmosphere on site - transfers organised to reach the town centre - staff trained and prepared months in advance. "Here, people come to rest between two concerts. They read a book. They listen to the birds, not the bass."
The green spaces are entirely managed in-house. Two landscapers take care of flowering, maintenance and production in the greenhouses. "Planting an avenue of cherry trees is not always rational. But it is beautiful. And it is this kind of detail that makes the soul of the Victoria."
Being a family hotel means being able to choose every detail: - The decor - The services - The hospitality strategy - The development priorities. "We are not trying to please everyone. We are targeting a clientele that seeks this calm and this authenticity."
Antoine stresses the importance of coordination between all the players in the region: - the municipality of Montreux - Montreux Vevey Tourisme - the hoteliers - the festival organisers. This collective dynamic enables smooth hospitality, logistical anticipation and consistent quality year after year.
"Premium hospitality is not just about a beautiful setting. It is the ability to offer a tailor-made experience to each guest profile." Antoine also mentions: - a Victoria boutique in the pipeline - expanding managerial services - A determination to preserve the soul of the place while innovating subtly.
Without hesitation: "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple. "My father saw the flames of the Montreux casino from Glion. And that song is the history of jazz, the history of the place, and a childhood memory."
